Today’s trek involves a steady ascent, maintaining an altitude gain as you follow the Modi Khola river gorge upstream. You will pass through a few scattered lodges at Himalaya before continuing on the path. The trekking route takes you through areas prone to minor landslides, which require careful navigation. You will stop for the night at Deurali (3,200 m / 10,500 ft), where the air starts to feel noticeably thinner, signifying your approach to higher altitudes.

This walking distance is roughly 9-10 km (5.5-6 miles) and is a great chance to appreciate the jungle ecosystem you passed in the darkness of the ascent.
